We are entirely self-funded, meaning we must raise all funds ourselves to cover all ongoing costs, whether education activities, insurance, tree planting or on-going management. We were fortunate to receive funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, but this ended in 2024 – so if all we want to continue to care for, share in and learn from the woods we need YOUR help!
Become a regular donor as a ‘Friend of Gifford Woods’. We appreciate finances are tight for many people, so we have a range of flexible donation options to suit all budgets, even a small donation once a year would be hugely appreciated!
By becoming a ‘Friend of Gifford Community Woodland’ you can help ensure the ongoing sustainability of the woods for the benefit of all Gifford families well into the future.

You’ve two ways to become a Friend…
Either online via our secure Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) page, or by downloading, printing and handing back a form. Select one below:
Whilst the regular donations of our Friends of Gifford Woods are critical to our on-going sustainability, we are also delighted to accept one-off charitable donations. These can be made online by clicking this link (or the button below), or you can contact us for more information about donating by cheque or other means.
REMINDER! There are two ways you can become a ‘Friend’:
- Online by clicking here which will take you to our CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) Friends sign-up page, from which you can set-up secure online payments either monthly or annually, at any level you choose.
- Alternatively, you can download the sign-up form by clicking here, then you just need to email or post it to us.
Either of these will register you as an official ‘Friend of Gifford Woods’ and one of our volunteers will be in touch with you by email to thank you for your support and give you a Gifford Woods car sticker.
The Friends scheme has been going for nearly two years and we are delighted that we now have over 70 people making regular donations, giving us nearly £10,000 every year.

Please Gift Aid your donation
Boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate. Please ensure you tick the Gift Aid box on the form saying you are happy to Gift Aid any donations when you complete it. Thank you!
But do remember…everyone in the village is already a member of Gifford Community Woodland, has a vote at our AGM and a say in how we care for the woods. But by becoming a Friend, you will be helping preserve the woods to enjoy now and into the future.
