Volunteer

You could help protect the woods from invasive rhododendrons, plant new trees or help us process logs for sale to the local community. Join Project Manager, Nev Kilkenny, for a rewarding day in the woods.

Or, you might wish to join our team of enthusiastic volunteers to help us out behind-the-scenes with activities like writing blogs, newsletter distributions, event delivery, fundraisers and competitions.

Our Volunteering Activities are a great way to meet other community members, learn new skills, improve your knowledge of woodland management practices, and benefit from the peaceful beautify of the woodland.

You might wish to become a Volunteer Leader so that you can help to co-ordinate events and activities relating to the woods. We’re planning to do annual Volunteer Training sessions to encourage more community members to join our friendly team.

For details of upcoming Volunteering Activity Days see our Events Calendar.

If you’d like to get involved or come along to any of our Volunteering Activity Day or find out about our Volunteer Leader Training, please get in touch so we can send you more information. We hope to see you soon!

Join us as a Charity Trustee. (No experience necessary!)

As well as the various volunteer opportunities you can find out about below, we are also currently looking for new Charity Trustees to join the Woods (officially the charity is called the Gifford Community Land Company). The first thing to say is that ANYONE over the age of 18 can become a trustee, and you need no experience of having done anything like that before.

You can find more information on the four links below about what it involves, including an application form if you’d like to apply straight away. But if you’d like to discuss this further or even meet an existing Trustee who can tell you more about what it involves, then please just get in touch via gifford.woodseh41@gmail.com

So if you’re keen to help the woods further, PLEASE think about applying – we’d love to have you join!
